Minutes: May 16, 2023 Special Board Meeting – PT Clerk Interviews

Presented for approval at the June 13, 2023 Board Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 4:00 pm by Chair Michelle Meis, Supervisors present includes Stan Iskierka, Branden Mell, Doug Johnson, and Betsy Rising.  Clerk Mary Winter and Treasurer Mary Dillner were also present.

Three candidates came before the board one at a time for a ½ hour interview for the PT Clerk position.  After the all interviews, the board discussed in length the qualification of each interviewee.  After careful consideration of each candidate the board selected to hire Heather Sward.  Her start date will be as soon as she is available.  Chair Michelle will contact Heather for her acceptance and Clerk Mary W. will send regrets to all other candidates.

Treasurer Mary D. requested the following be added to minutes to ensure a timely changeover of signers on our checks.

Motion by Michelle Meis, seconded by Betsy Rising.  Approved.

The board also discussed an email from Frank McCrakin on Azalea Ave.  He has requested the board include in the minutes from the May 9, 2023 Board Meeting that none of the landowners of the roadway can restrict or build on the 50′ easement right of way that the township maintains due to the MN statue referenced.  This will eliminate having Frank draft a letter to each of the landowners.  The board has agreed to reiterate the MN Statue 160.05 in the May Minutes.
