The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Chair Michelle Meis, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisors present included Stan Iskierka, Branden Mell, Doug Johnson and Betsy Rising. Clerk, Heather Sward and Treasurer, Angela Krejchik and were also present.

Variance/Plat/Interim Use Permit Requests
James & Lori Taylor – Variance Request: Mr. Taylor presented a request to add a second level to current home. Motion to approve the requested variance by Stan Iskierka, seconded by Doug Johnson. Approved.

Road Maintenance Report
- Muddy Gap Hollow spent time cutting trees early in the month and now mulching trees.
- Replacing faded signs.
Committee Reports
- Road Committee
- Have had discussions regarding driveways for new homes.
- Letters were sent to those residents with obstacles in the ROW for plowing.
- Budget Committee
- Budget work session to be set for the 1st Saturday in December or the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. We will put on the November agenda.
- Contract Committee
- BFD has been invited to our November meeting.
- Policy Committee
- Nothing to report.
- Clerk’s Township Update
- The Clerk presented monthly report of the township happenings.
- The General election will be held at the Townhall on November 5th, 2024.
Old Business
- MAT District 7 Meeting Update: Michelle provided an update from the District 7 meeting.
- ROW permitting resources/samples are available on the MAT Website.
- By June 2026, all governmental agencies will need to update their website to be .gov
New Business
- 2024-2025 Snow Removal Policy Publishing: The presented policy was reviewed. Motion to approve and publish by Betsy Rising, seconded by Stan Iskierka. Approved.
- Salt Ordering: Stan will provide direction to the clerk when to order.
- 2025 Polling Place Resolution: The presented resolution was reviewed. Motion to approve as presented by Stan Iskierka, seconded by Betsy Rising. Approved.
- County Road 6/Stauffer Lake Parking: Chisago County Public Works approached Nessel Township for our thoughts on parking along Stauffer Lake. After discussion, the Board is in support of parking on one side of County Road 6 along Stauffer Lake (Lake 30). We would like to see the access remain open as it is frequently used. It was also discussed to work with the DNR on long-range planning for that lake access as it is currently privately owned.
